Accolades keep coming for Noah
The statistical accolades keep coming for Joakim Noah, not that the fourth-year big man cares about anything but winning.
With averages of 15.7 points and a league-leading 15 rebounds before his double-double streak ended at six in Thursday night's 120-90 blowout victory over the Warriors, Noah is the first player in franchise history to top averages of 15 in both categories over a season's first six games.
In fact, Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O'Neal are the only active players to do so.
"He has a great skill set but what makes him so special is that intensity he brings every night," said the Warriors' David Lee.
Lee shared a hilarious anecdote of the first time he met Noah. Florida coach Billy Donovan assigned Lee, a senior, to make sure Noah, a freshman, arrived to class on time.
"That was absolutely impossible," Lee said. "I told him to meet me at this designated point. … I see this guy walking on campus. He has shorts down below his waist, no shirt on and a boom box playing music. He's like, 'Yo, I'm ready for class.' "
