Adelman reaches out to Hayes:

Adelman said he spoke with former Houston center Chuck Hayes, who had his four-year, $21.3 million contract revoked by Sacramento after he failed a physical.

Hayes was diagnosed with a heart abnormality. He had signed with Sacramento as a free agent after playing for Adelman in Houston.

"He seems to be doing OK, but I know it had to be a blow to him," Adelman said. "He finally gets a good contract, and that happens to him. He never had anything like that in Houston. He's hoping it's minor."
