Antawn Jamison’s season could be over

Cavs leading scorer Antawn Jamison could miss the rest of the season following surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured pinky finger on his left hand.

Jamison is expected to miss five to seven weeks after Tuesday’s procedure, which will be performed by hand specialist Dr. Thomas Graham, with Cavs team physician Dr. Richard Parker assisting. There are seven weeks left in the season. Jamison, averaging 18 points per game, was fouled late in the third quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers by Jrue Holiday and walked immediately to the locker room.

The Cavs have a couple of different ways they can replace Jamison in the starting lineup. J.J. Hickson, a natural power forward starting at center, could shift back and allow Ryan Hollins to start at center. Coach Byron Scott could also leave Hickson at center and start undrafted rookie Samardo Samuels at power forward.
