Bobcats invite Crittenton to camp
The Charlotte Bobcats are delving back into the second-chance business, inviting former Washington Wizards point guard Javaris Crittenton to training camp next week in Wilmington.
Crittenton was suspended the last 38 games of last season by the NBA after he carried a handgun into the Wizards locker room in a confrontation with then-teammate Gilbert Arenas. Crittenton later submitted a guilty plea to a misdemeanor gun charge.
The Bobcats aren't commenting on Crittenton because a contract hasn't been signed, but a source confirmed the invitation. It's unlikely the Bobcats have offered Crittenton much, if any, guaranteed money.
The Bobcats are still filling out their training camp roster. A source indicated veterans Darius Miles, Larry Hughes and Antoine Walker might be in Wilmington, though they'd likely have to accept unguaranteed contracts to do so.
