Decisions for Bobcats on what to do with Diaw
What becomes of Boris Diaw?
There's little doubt there's some frustration among Bobcats management with power forward Diaw's inconsistency. Also there's the issue of the large investment made in backup Tyrus Thomas. Diaw has one season left on his contract - a $9 million player option that it seems likely he would exercise.
I've heard two schools of thought on Diaw: Either that they'd look to deal him this off-season, if just to move his contract. Or that they'd keep him around on the logic that he'd figure to play harder next season in a contract year.
My guess is if they did move Diaw, it would be a deal like the one involving Tyson Chandler, where the Bobcats wouldn't get back a lot of talent, but might be able to reduce their payroll responsibility.
