Gran Canaria 2014 completes roster with Butler
Gran Canaria 2014 rounded up its roster for the upcoming Eurocup Qualifying Round by inking small forward Rasual Butler to a one-year deal on Monday. Butler (2.01 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Chicago of the NBA, where he averaged 2.4 points in 8 games last season. He started the 2010-11 season with Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 5 points in 41 NBA games before joining Chicago. Butler has played in the NBA even since getting his college degree at La Salle University (NCAA), accumulating 5,545 points in 634 NBA games with Miami, New Orleans, Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago. Butler had NBA career-best averages of 11.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 82 games. "He has been a solid player in the NBA that is able to score," Gran Canaria general manager Himar Ojeda said. "He will also help us in defense and it is something that we like a lot," he added. Gran Canaria faces Artland Dragons in the two-way Eurocup Qualifying Round.
