Hedo Turkoglu hurting, slumping

Magic SF Hedo Turkoglu is not only in a slump, he’s in pain.

Turk told me he has had lower back pain Sunday and has been dealing with it for a week or so.

If he can’t play tonight against the Grizzlies, Stan Van Gundy will have to punt.

He can move Quentin Richardson into the lineup for Turk at small forward instead of shuffling either Brandon Bass or Ryan Anderson from their power-forward rotation.

“He’s not playing very well right now on the offensive end. He did make some good passes late, but he made some careless ones. His energy needs to be better and he needs to get on it,” Van Gundy said after the Cavs beatdown.

“I think that when he first came he was excited to be back, excited to be playing more minutes and excited to have the ball in his hands more, and he’s sort of dropped off a little bit,” he said. “He’ll come back because he’s a good player. He’s got to get back on it and play better.’’
