Injured Antawn Jamison turns focus to supporting teammates

Speaking for the first time since surgery to repair the left little finger he fractured on Feb. 27 against Philadelphia, Jamison admitted Thursday night he's done for the season. It's the first time he has ever broken a bone, and he has been surprised how much having a cast on his left hand limited him.

"No video games," he said with a smile. "It's been straight movie time for the past two weeks."

After the surgery, he spent a week with his family in Charlotte, N.C., but he's back to support his teammates in the final 16 games of the season. He hopes all of them will be like Wednesday's victory at Sacramento.

"I loved it," he said before Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers. "We got down in the first quarter, but we didn't give up, we didn't hand our heads.

"We found a way to keep our poise. The guys in the game competed at a high level and it was a total team effort. That's pretty much the mentality we have to have for the rest of the season as well."
