It’s not easy seeing green
Glen Davis is one of two Celtics whose contracts expire after this season. He is in the final year of the two-year, $6 million extension he signed during the summer of 2009, and he could be a free agent precisely when the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement expires, a predicament many players have been trying to avoid.
Davis said he won’t allow the issue to affect his play or disposition.
“Yeah, it motivates me, just as a player,’’ he said. “I can’t dwell on it, because if it worries you, it stops you from the task at hand. So I’m just focused on trying to get back to the championship, trying to win a championship and help my team.’’
Davis is a relative bargain at $3 million per season, and with another solid campaign and no personal issues — such as the broken thumb he sustained before last season after fighting with a friend — he should be able to cash in.
