Jason Richardson, Earl Clark reiterate they’d like to stay here
Jason Richardson, a veteran guard about to sign the last big contract of his career, and Earl Clark, a young forward whose rookie contract expires this summer, are the only two non-minimum players that come off the Orlando Magic’s payroll this summer (Malik Allen, the team’s other free agent, earned the veteran’s minimum this past year).
And both Richardson and Clark would like to stick around.
The Magic met as a team for the last time this season on Friday afternoon, and afterward both players said they’re comfortable in Orlando and would like to play here again next season.
“I’m very comfortable here,” Richardson said. “I love this city, I love the organization, the fans are great… so I would definitely love to play here for a long time.”
Said Clark: “It’s been a good experience for me, coming to a team that accepted me with open arms. I look forward to staying here and building it with the team. … I don’t want to play anywhere else.”
Both Richardson and Clark said they haven’t yet spoken with Smith about their futures in Orlando. Smith has said he likes both players in the past.
