Jennings will play on minutes limit

Bucks coach Scott Skiles said Brandon Jennings will play in a limited role in Saturday night's home game against the New Jersey Nets.

The 21-year-old point guard has been sidelined for 19 games since undergoing surgery Dec. 20 to repair a broken bone in his left foot.

Jennings will not start but will come off the bench for the first time in his NBA career, after starting 82 regular-season games as a rookie and 25 this season.

The Bucks will have one lineup change with Carlos Delfino replacing Chris Douglas-Roberts at shooting guard. Douglas-Roberts attended a funeral in Detroit on Saturday and had an excused absence, Skiles said.

The starting lineup will be the 14th different one used by Skiles this season.

"I've got to have a pretty strict, under-12 minute limit on him," Skiles said of Jennings. "I didn't want to put him out there in the beginning of the game.

"I'll wait until maybe the last timeout of the first quarter and put him in. If there's foul trouble or something, I may put him in earlier. If all goes well, I'll put him in and let him play 5 minutes or something. Get him out and then hopefully do something again in the second half."

Skiles said Jennings was on a strict limit and would not be able to play more minutes. When Delfino returned to the lineup at Cleveland on Jan. 21, he exceeded his limit and wound up playing 23 minutes in a Bucks victory.

"I can't (exceed it)," Skiles said. "We hope he can come out of this OK, go again tomorrow and get a workout in or whatever. Shootaround Monday and maybe go a little bit more Monday (against the Los Angeles Clippers) and pretty quickly have the restrictions taken off."
