J.J. Barea won't play in star-studded tour

When a group of NBA players begin a six-game, four-continent exhibition tour Sunday in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dallas Mavericks guard and Puerto Rico native J.J. Barea won't be participating.

It's not that Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, just three of the handful of big-name players that will embark on a tour that is scheduled to barnstorm London, Macau and Melbourne, Australia, are getting even with the diminutive -- and often annoying -- point guard who sent those guys home on the way to the Mavs hoisting the NBA championship trophy.

"Nope," Barea said via text message. "I'm in the Pan American games with Puerto Rico."

The Pan Am Games run from Wednesday through Sunday from Guadalajara, Mexico.
