Lamar Odom: ‘Good to be humbled’
Lamar Odom said he thought the Lakers needed that 109-100 loss to New Orleans in Game 1 of the NBA playoffs. Brought the two-time defending NBA champions back to Earth after being lost in some basketball nether world the past week.
He said the Lakers are cocky and therefore it’s “good to be humbled, get a swift kick in the butt.”
Derek Fisher disagreed, saying the Lakers don’t need any sort of humbling because that would mean that the Lakers are conceited or overconfident and he said they went into Sunday’s game at Staples Center with the right mindset.
“I think we came into the game with the right attitude but they performed better today,” Fisher said. “No matter how bad you feel about your performance, you have to tip your hat to your opponent. They did some things much better than us, they were ready to play more than we were.”
