Line for Paul Pierce: Two injuries, no baskets
Paul Pierce finished 0-for-10 from the field yesterday, including 0-for-5 from 3-point range, and had one point after making 1-of-2 free throws.
Afterward, Pierce revealed his hand isn’t the only thing hurting. He will have an MRI today on a sore left foot that has bothered him for approximately two weeks.
“I’m just battling a couple of minor injuries today,” he said after the Celtics’ 85-82 win against the Heat at the Garden. “I think that really explains my tentativeness in my shooting today. I told (coach) Doc (Rivers) that I really didn’t have it today, but I just tried the grind it out.
“I sprained (the hand Saturday) and got it hit today. I’ve got to get the foot checked out (today).”

According to general manager Danny Ainge, surgery on Shaq’s sore Achilles tendon is not on the table — at least not right now.
“No surgery,” Ainge said. “The problem is that often you don’t know the timetable with injuries. It’s just that his Achilles is really bothering him right now.” . . .
Marquis Daniels is expected to meet with spinal specialists this week before undergoing further tests on his bruised spinal cord.
“All I know right now is that you’re not going to see Marquis for a while,” Rivers said. “They don’t even know who his doctors are going to be yet.”
