Memphis Grizzlies' O.J. Mayo says there are no hard feelings

Back from the brink of divorce, Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo insisted he's not bitter after an agreed-upon trade shipping him to Indiana failed to go through at the NBA's trade deadline.

"We're still married and I'm happy to be here," Mayo said Friday following the Grizzlies' workout. "I think I belong here. It's my job to prove that I need to be here."

Citing sources, the Chicago Tribune also reported that the Bulls offered Ronnie Brewer, two first-round picks and one second-round pick for Mayo but the Griz declined. A source with knowledge of Grizzlies' trade-deadline dealings claimed the Bulls' proposal only included Brewer.

"I'm happy that it's all over. At least I know I'll be here all the way through the end of the season," Mayo said. "You can't control what goes on in this business other than going out there and giving 120 percent. That's what you can control."

Mayo said he doesn't doubt Hollins' sincerity or their relationship.

"Coach Hollins is definitely more than a coach to a lot of us. I've had some problems this year and for the most part -- to my knowledge -- he's been in my corner," Mayo said. "From a one-on-one aspect with me and him, he's definitely been in my corner. You hear other things as far as the front office about what he wants for this team. But that's something I can't address because I don't know much about that. But I never walk around thinking he doesn't like me."
