Mike Bibby headed to Miami

Mike Bibby's agent, David Falk, said on Tuesday that his client will indeed take his jump shot to South Beach.

"He's going to Miami. He'll clear waivers and he'll sign, yes," Falk said. "When we discussed the buyout, I asked him, if you could go to any team, without hesitation, he said Miami. Not because of the weather. He thinks it's the best chance to win a championship and make a significant impact on winning a championship."

Bibby surprised many with his decision to sacrifice all of the $6.2 million that he was owed in 2011-12 in order to leave the Wizards. But Falk said that Bibby didn't want to waste his time playing out the season for a team headed nowhere. And, while he likes John Wall and respects the rookie's game, the 32-year-old Bibby had no interest in taking on a backup role in Washington.

"It's a very interesting situation," Falk said. "He made a very significant financial sacrifice in order to win. He could've easily played out the end of the year, probably got traded to a playoff team. But this is what he wanted to do. In his 13th year, he feels he's too old to be a on team that's not headed to the playoffs and too young to be a mentor."
