Murphy still battling for minutes with Nets
Avery Johnson insisted if there were a game ball for yesterday's 89-82 win over the Hawks, it would have gone to Troy Murphy.
Very nice, but Murphy would rather have assured playing time.
"It's been tough because I don't know when I'm going in or if I'm going in at all," said Murphy who, behind Kris Humphries and Derrick Favors on the power forward depth chart, played in his 13th game. "Just to get out there and try to get loose and try to get in the flow of the game has been difficult."
Sasha Vujacic is going to do something about those shoes. Vujacic, who did a little bit of everything yesterday with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and solid defense, heard more than one shot at his Laker-colored sneakers.
"It felt good. The home crowd accepted me," Vujacic said of his role in the 89-82 win over the Hawks. "I heard a couple comments about my shoes but I can put it on the record I'm still waiting for them to ship it out but hopefully I'll get them before the next home game."
