NBA players here today, gone tonight Thursday, March 31, 2011
"When I was a fan growing up, you wanted certain guys to play for your team for a long period of time," Humphries said. "We got to understand that sometimes there's no choice. Hopefully, however it works out it can be where players have the ability to stay with teams for a long period of time."
Humphries will be a free agent this summer, and has become someone Nets' fans want to see stay. He does, too. But the power forward is having a career season and the Nets won't be the only bidders.
Once the new CBA is reached, Humphries is going to have to see what's out there for him. But he still could decide to stay with the Nets for what he hopes is a long period of time.
"You want to make the most money you can and have a great career and all those things," he said. "I want to be here. They've helped me get a lot better and rolled with me this year. It would be great to be back here. We're looking to do that."
