NBA Star Kendrick Perkins booked, released from jail
On Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 2:05 AM Beaumont Police officers noticed a large crowd outside a club called "The Ticket", at 3684 College. Many of the people leaving the club were holding their faces and complaining of fights and pepper spray inside the club. When officers went inside they observed the staff of the club trying to get everyone to leave. According to the arresting officer, he observed a subject later identified as Kendrick Perkins having a disturbance with the management of the club. The police Sergeant advised there were approximately 50 people gathered around perkins as he was attempting to fight the manager. The crowd was able to push Perkins out the back door of the club where he stopped and continued to yell obscenities. Several officers attempted to quiet Perkins and to get him to leave the property. Perkins continued with the obscenities and was trying to fight several other people in the crowd who were apparently trying to help. The arresting Sergeant advised that due to several indicators, it was clear to him that the subject was intoxicated to the degree that he was a danger to himself or others. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct (language), and for Public Intoxication. He was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked on those charges without further incident.
The arrest comes after Perkins reportedly had an accident at Stephen Jackson's home in Port Arthur late Thursday night. KFDM confirmed a 27 year old male was taken from Jackson's home by ambulance to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. The subject was treated for minor injuries and released.
A spokesperson for Perkins stated that Kendrick was suffering from dehydration and was told by doctors to rest.
