Nets awaiting 'Soccer Sasha;' Morrow out 2-3 weeks
Sasha Vujacic is expected in late this afternoon for his physical and the Nets have announced Anthony Morrow will be out 2-3 weeks with a strained right hamstring.
Jordan Farmar, who already has been named a starter for tomorrow against the Wizards (a game the Nets MUST get -- look at the schedule for the rest of the month) spoke about his former Lakers teammate and soon to be Nets teammate. He said opponents find him annoying.
“He’ll help. He’s not going to be the savior and the answer to everything but I think he’ll help in terms of energy level,” Farmar said. “I think that’s the thing first and foremost that we need here to improve upon.
“I describe him as a soccer player. He’s going to be annoying. He’s going to be all up in everybody. He’s going to have antics,” Farmar said. “And on the other end of the floor, he’s going to stretch the floor. He’s going to shoot the ball, lights out.”
Vujacic has been sitting with the Lakers, averaging under 5 minutes “so he’s probably really, really anxious,” Farmar said.
Meanwhile, Morrow ...
He said Tuesday night he didn’t think his injury was serious, but he claimed it “popped” twice. Up to three weeks is not good, but it could be worse. At least there was no tear.
