Nets' Derrick Favors doesn't want to hear about Carmelo Anthony trade talks
If and when the long-awaited Carmelo Anthony trade does happen, it won’t necessarily include all of the players whose names have been reported. The principals have been in place for a while, though, and the one Net who is sure to go in any scenario is Derrick Favors.
Favors, though, is perhaps the most carefree Net these days, and really isn’t worrying about whether he will be traded.
“I’m used to it now; it’s been going on since training camp,” he said. “I don’t worry about it anymore.”
Favors, of course, is 19 years old, single, and not from New Jersey. He has no ties to the area and if he has to pick up and move to Denver, it won’t be any problem for him.
So, Favors comes to work every day and never asking anyone if they’ve heard anything new about the deal.
“I don’t want any information,” he said. “Just, whenever it happens, it happens. Just let me know when it happens.”
Irina Pavlova, president of Onexim Sports, and described in the Nets’ media guide as the conduit between the team’s management and ownership, is on the trip and chatted with coach Avery Johnson after shootaround. The pair’s talk was unrelated to the Anthony trade, the Nets say.
