New Orleans Hornets release backup guard Jannero Pargo

The New Orleans Hornets released backup combo guard Jannero Pargo on Tuesday. Team officials said Pargo's surgically repaired knee wasn't progressing quickly enough.

Pargo, who signed a free-agent contract with the team just before training camp, was in his second tour of duty with the Hornets.
