Orien Greene gets 10-day contract

Needing insurance at point guard because of reserve Jordan Farmar’s back troubles, the Nets will sign Orien Greene to a 10-day contract, sources said.
Greene, a 2005 second-round pick who played for the Celtics, Pacers and Kings, averaged 18 points and 5.1 assists for the Utah Flash of the NBA Development League. He is expected to join the Nets today.
Farmar missed his third straight game due to a lower-back strain, and won’t play Wednesday against the 76ers. Nets coach Avery Johnson said Farmar likely would undergo an MRI.
