Parker aggravates back injury
Anthony Parker's return lasted one game. His nagging lower back strain began nagging him again, forcing him to miss the team's flight to Chicago.
Parker stayed behind in Cleveland following Friday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks for more treatment on his back, although there is a chance he can rejoin the team in New Jersey in time for Monday's game against the Nets.
''I expected [Friday] night that he'd be a little sore,'' Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said. ''Playing that guard position, going through screens and trying to get over screens, you're going to get hit.''
Parker played 14 minutes, but Scott watched him closely the final minute he was on the floor and saw him wincing.
''I knew then that he'd get a little tight, so we took him out,'' he said.
The Cavs have missed Parker's veteran leadership while he's been out. He missed seven games over three weeks with the back injury. Although he missed Saturday's game, Scott doesn't seem to think Parker will be out long.
''I'm not saying we took a step back, but we all knew he would be a little sore,'' Scott said. ''It just depends on how he reacts to the next couple of days.''
