Pistons coach John Kuester considers shortening his rotation
Coach John Kuester said he might shorten the rotation to try to correct the Pistons problems.
Kuester basically has a first and second team, and sometimes goes nine deep.
That, some veteran players say, puts players out of rhythm. It also is a reason why some players don't know their roles.
"When you are talking about roles, it is real simple," Kuester said. "We have to make sure guys know their roles. We have spoken to them a lot about their roles defensively. We have offensive explosion, but we have to make sure we take care of the basketball."
Ben Wallace believes the team will continue to struggle until guys fully understand their roles.
But, Wallace also is an advocate of playing veterans or starters more.
"It affects a team," he said. "We've just got to sit down and try to help everybody figure out what their role is. We are playing a lot of guys and sometimes that interrupts the rhythm of a game. We ask our starters to sit down and we ask them to come back in and pick it back up.
"We are not that young a team … We got those veterans and when we sit down it takes a while for them to get going."
