Sun, 11/27/2011 - 1:53pm
The overseas injury bug has hit Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Rudy Fernandez, who has been playing for Real Madrid.
Fernandez twisted his left knee during a game Thursday night and it was initially feared he could be out for up to a month. Results of a MRI exam revealed he has a distension on the left popliteus muscle, according to a report on team's website, and is expected to miss a week.
Fernandez has an out in his contract and he will join the Mavs when the lockout is lifted. With a tentative labor agreement in place, NBA training camps are expected to open on Dec. 9.
