Rudy Fernandez the unsung hero?

Brandon Roy got all the attention for his 18 points in the fourth quarter Saturday. But McMillan singled out Rudy Fernandez as the true catalyst to the comeback.

Fernandez played tough against several Mavericks on the defensive end of the court, which sparked the Portland offense for a string of easy baskets.

“I thought he was the difference in the ball game,” McMillan said. “His pressure at the end of the third quarter and into the fourth really got us going. Brandon started hitting some shots, but Rudy I thought changed the momentum and did a really nice job defending.”
