Ryan Hollins returning to Cavaliers

Center Ryan Hollins will be returning to the Cavaliers this season.

It’s now a matter of when he can report back to work.

Hollins exercised his option for the 2011-12 season worth $2.48 million, the Cavs confirmed on Tuesday.

The 7-foot, 240-pounder started 16 of the 70 games he played last season. He averaged 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.6 blocks. He led the team by shooting 59.8 percent from the field.

Anderson Varejao, recovering from ankle surgery, will likely be the starting center. Hollins, 26, will compete for backup minutes with Semih Erden.
