Shaq makes for 2 ex-Suns on TNT
The two most recognizable ex-Suns in history will share one stage next season.
Shaquille O’Neal is joining TNT’s “Inside the NBA” show, teaming with Suns Ring of Honor member Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson. He was courted by ABC/ESPN as well since his retirement but picked TNT because he felt the environment would be fun.
“It has also been my favorite show,” said O’Neal, who has kept a house in Atlanta, TNT’s home, for 15 years. “I’d love to be up there hanging out with Charles, Kenny and Ernie. I just thought that was the best fit for me.
“It was a deal I couldn’t resist.”
Turner President David Levy said Barkley was one of the biggest proponents of bringing O’Neal aboard that that the studio usually has been a four-man show anyway.

On the lockout: “The only people that are suffering really are the fans. The fans don’t really understand millionaires vs. billionaires. Hopefully, the intelligent people that are having these conversations can sit down, conversate and construct a new agreement. We don’t want to happen what happened with baseball. It actually took baseball five to six years to come back to its full front.”
On his legacy: “I want to be remembered as either the most dominant player ever or one of the most dominant players ever.”
