Signs are that Mavs' Roddy Beaubois starts tonight

For moThere have been signs the last two days that Rorddy Beaubois' first action of the season will come as a starter at shooting guard tonight against Sacramento.

Signs, but no proof.

For instance, Beaubois was wearing a white starter's jersey after practice Tuesday. But coaches have been known to mix and match those players for the sake of competing in practices or to fool gullible media members.

In addition, J.J. Barea was back at shootaround today and that indicates he'll be in his usual spot off the bench behind Jason Kidd tonight.

Rick Carlisle also said something today after shootaround that lent itself to the possibility that Beaubois might be in the starting lineup instead of DeShawn Stevenson tonight against the Kings.

"We've got one of the best benches in the league,'' he said. "J.J. is a big part of it. So is Jet and Marion and Cardinal and Haywood and Mahinmi and all these guys. The last eight or nine games, everybody that's going to be on our active roster tonight has played a significant role at some point. And that speaks of our depth. Everybody's got to be ready.''

Notice who Carlisle didn't name on that list of bench guys? Neither Stevenson nor Beaubois.
