Strong point guard play a reality
On the cusp of his third NBA season, Spurs guard George Hill believes it is high time for him to become a star.
If not on the court, at least on the tube.
Inspired by reruns of the now-defunct MTV reality show “Rob and Big,” which chronicled the antics of a skateboarder and his bodyguard, Hill half-seriously harbors hopes of putting together a similar program with burly teammate DeJuan Blair.
“It's going to be called, ‘Big and Smalls,'” he said, broadening his shoulders as wide as they would broaden. “I'm Big, and he's Smalls.”
Even after Parker returned, Hill remained the starting point guard for the Spurs' first eight playoff games, which might have created controversy in another locker room. Parker, a three-time All-Star a year removed from an All-NBA season, shrugged off the brief demotion.
“The team was in a pretty good rhythm, so I talked with Pop and saw it was good to keep that rhythm,” Parker said.
“As long as we're winning games, we don't care who starts,” Hill said. “That's how we look at it.”
