Trail Blazers part ways with center Chris Johnson and expect Marcus Camby back within two weeks

The Trail Blazers will not re-sign center Chris Johnson because the team feels a rehabilitating Marcus Camby will be ready to return within two weeks, general manager Rich Cho said on Friday.
Johnson was signed to a 10-day contract on Jan. 24 as part of an injury exception the Blazers were granted following Camby’s left knee surgery. The exception is valid only if the injured player is out for two weeks.
So if the Blazers would have signed Johnson to another 10-day contract, Camby would have to sit out two weeks, regardless if he was healthy enough to play.
