Ty Lawson to play in Lithuania if NBA lockout continues

Ty Lawson isn't waiting around to see how long it takes the NBA to solve the lockout. The Nuggets guard tells the Denver Post he has signed on with a Lithuanian team, and that his contract allows him to bail if and when NBA play resumes.

Lawson will suit up for Zalgiris Kaunas, a team that includes former Denver teammate Sonny Weems.

"It's the best situation for me to go out there," Lawson told the Post by phone. "Being at home, I'm not saying I'm a lazy person, but I want to be in the gym. And plus, it's a new experience going out to Lithuania, so why not? It was a no-brainer. And as soon as the lockout ends, I can come right back and be with the Denver Nuggets."

Lawson said he'll go to Lithuania on Aug. 28.
