Unrestricted Free Agent Kwame Brown working out with Bobcats

Despite becoming an unrestricted free agent, 10-year veteran center Kwame Brown has been working out daily with the coaches, particularly Paul Silas. Much of the focus has been on improving Brown's shot release, in part to improve his foul-shooting and also to give him more options in the pick-and-roll.

Silas' effort clearly leaves Brown wanting to re-sign here.

"This is the first time in a long time that, with an organization, I feel like they want me here," said Brown, a former No. 1 overall pick on his first NBA team.

"You want a coach like Paul, who loves to teach, not always yelling. I'm not saying Paul is a pushover, but the quality of time he spends with you and his people skills, you've got to have that when you draft young guys, or you shouldn't draft them."
