Warriors complete trade for Murphy, pick
Thu, 02/24/2011 - 1:00am
The Warriors acquired Troy Murphy and a 2012 second-round pick from New Jersey for Brandan Wright and Dan Gadzuric in a deal that was first reported by The Chronicle.
Essentially, the Warriors traded two guys they don't use for a second-round pick and Jeff Adrien, a player they're likely to pluck from the NBA Development League, according to team sources.
The Warriors are hoping to further move Murphy and his $12 million expiring contract for another second-round pick. In all likelihood, none of Boston, Dallas, Miami or Orlando will bite and instead wait to sign Murphy for the league minimum after te the Warriors buy out the forward.
