West undergoes successful wrist surgery
Tue, 11/30/2010 - 3:49pm
The Boston Celtics announced on Tuesday that Delonte West, who suffered a broken right wrist injury on Nov. 24 against New Jersey, underwent successful surgery.
The surgery was performed at New England Baptist Hospital to repair what team officials described as a "displaced right wrist fracture."
The attending physicians were Dr. Drew Terrono and Dr. Hervey Kimball, and they were assisted by Celtics Team physician Dr. Brian McKeon.
Before the surgery, Celtics coach Doc Rivers was hopeful that the 6-foot-3 guard would be back in time for the playoffs.
However, team officials indicate that there's no specific timetable for West's return right now.
