Wolves' David Kahn expects more from Love and Beasley

Michael Beasley is averaging 19.9 points per game for the Timberwolves, Kevin Love 21.1 points and 15.5 rebounds.

But Wolves' basketball president David Kahn wants more from them, and others, when the season resumes Feb. 22 after the All-Star break.

"Each of our players need to be challenged to step it up," Kahn said. "Michael Beasley needs to have a huge last third of the season when he comes back from his (injured) ankle. Kevin Love needs to adopt the mantle of becoming a team leader now that he's an All-Star. Wayne Ellington needs to become more consistent. Same for Darko Milicic; I'm expecting more consistency out of him.

"Each player, I can keep going down the list, I'm expecting to see individual improvement, sometimes stabilization and consistency. But I'm also expecting the team to make some modest improvement."

Kahn acknowledges that Beasley, recovering from an injured ankle, has played well the first part of the season.

"But I expect more; I want more from him," Kahn said. "I expect him to have a huge last part of the season. I said that to him and he said, 'I can do that.' I said, 'I know you can. I wouldn't ask you to do something you can't do.' "
